Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 Ultra vs. Creative GigaWorks S750
TheEAR Mega Multimedia Speakers Comparison 2003-2004

Original Post:
Next week I am doing a giant PC speaker comparo featuring:

Klipsch GMX 5.1's,ProMedia 5.1Ultra,Logitech Z-560,Logitech Z-2200,Logitech Z-5300,Cambridge MegaWroks 510D,Cambridge MicroWorks

Yes I will have them all at home for tests,I own the 510D,5.1Ultra and the MicroWorks.

As you can guess the only systems missing is the newest GigaWorks and Z-680.The GigaWorks will be home before Christmas.

My reference PC sound setup is composed of the Dyanudio Contour 1.1 powered by a Celeste 4070 power amp and Anthem TLP1 preamp with PolkAudio PSW404 and 505 subs.I also can make quick comparos with my Klipsch RF7(quad),RC7/RF5 based system with three RSW's and four Sunfire subs. And if I really push it with my mini ubber reference Dynaudio/MOON/Krell/Velo/Aerial/Revel big gunns.Just for kicks

I have started to set things up and make space for the gear. For music I will use my reference test CD I name Mighty Sam McClain's Give it up to Love as well as some good ole Sheffield Lab's Sheffield DRIVE CD.These two CD's are to test QUALITY above all else in all its aspects.

For HT tests,LOTR Fellowship of the Ring(Barlog scene, battle with orcs/urakai near the end),here bass and sourround presentaion will be tested and TITAN AE( simply great all around audio)again systems explosivness and dynamic capabilities will be tested.

I will not test using pipe organ music, since its way to demanding even for the most potent PC speakers(5.1 Ultra),and not many PC speaker owners listen to pipe organs anyway.

And la
Plus some various high bitrate MP3's thrown in for good measure, from classical to techno.

I even have an old Cambridge PC Works(I dug out from the lost and found box at home)! LOL Yes that one that started pretty much the PC speaker revolution,it fails miserably on demanding music and just about anything very demanding but in its day it was a great inexpensive system.
